We pride ourselves on offering a successful pre-school to primary school transition program.
We understand that starting Prep is an important step for your family and have programs in place to ensure a smooth transition. We are committed to working with you to ensure a positive start to your child’s schooling.
Prep Transition Program for 2024 Students
Term 1:

From MONDAY APRIL 24th Enrolment applications open – parents/carers may submit their completed ‘Application to Enrol in a Victorian Government School Form’ to a government primary school from this date.
Open Evening:
THURSDAY MAY 18th 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
A great introduction to the wonderful aspects of our school’s programs. After a presentation, our teachers will be on hand to chat with you. Don’t miss this chance to learn more about our school, and what we can offer your child over their seven years at primary school.
Education Week: 15th – 19th May 2023
Open Mornings:
TUESDAY MAY 16th 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
WEDNESDAY MAY 17TH 9:30 – 10.30a.m.
THURSDAY MAY 18th 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
A fantastic opportunity to visit the school and see our classes in action. Current parents, students and teachers will be available to discuss their experiences of our school. We highly recommend coming along and getting involved in our community during Education Week.

BY FRIDAY JULY 28: Enrolment applications due – parents/carers submit their completed ‘Application to Enrol in a Victorian Government School Form’ to a government primary school by this date.
BY FRIDAY 11TH AUGUST: Primary schools provide parents/carers with written notification of Foundation (Prep) enrolment outcomes as per the ‘Priority Order of Placement’ under the Department’s Placement Policy.:
BY FRIDAY 25TH AUGUST: Parents/carers sent a letter of offer return the completed School Enrolment Form by this date, to indicate acceptance of their child’s placement offer.
Term 4:
Our Belle Vue Bumble Bees’ Orientation Program begins for enrolled 2024 Prep students.
In these sessions your child will participate in primary school life. During one of the first sessions, they are greeted by the Prep teachers for 2024 and receive a showbag of school “goodies”. Your child will complete part-day and full day sessions.
Our Bumble Bees program will be held on the following dates:
#1 Thursday November 2nd 2pm – 3pm
#2 Thursday November 9th 9.15am – 10.15am
#3 Monday November 27th 9am – 10.30am
Finally, 2023 Prep students will attend their first ‘full day’ at school on Tuesday December 5th (Full Day) 9.00am – 3pm
One of the most valued parts of our program is our Grade 5/Prep Buddies Program. Your child is allocated their Grade 5 buddy, who remains in that relationship with them in Prep and Grade 1. Our Prep students develop a supportive and comfortable relationship with their Buddy which can be maintained over the next two years.
There will also be a Prep specific information session for parents to help you and your child with the transition to primary school, held during the full day student orientation on Tuesday December 6th 2pm – 2.45pm.
