Belle Vue Primary School is proud to join the Fight against MND, to raise vital funds for MND and help eradicate the Beast!
We currently have a member of our community, Peter Ruddock, who has been living with MND for 30 years and is one of the longest surviving persons with this disease. Peter is a former teacher of Belle Vue Primary School and is the grandfather of three of our students. Despite his daily challenges Peter has remained positive, witty, and actively engaged within the Community.
Peter is a life member of the Principals Association and a Life Member of the Australian Swimming teachers and coaching Association, he is a 50-year member of the Melbourne Cricket Club, a passionate Melbourne Football Club supporter and proud father and grandfather. Peter is a proud man, a resilient man, a soft-hearted man with a strong exterior, who has a twinkle in his eye.
I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Belle Vue community for your generous support of our Fight MND fundraiser. Your kindness and involvement have made a real difference in raising awareness and vital funds for Motor Neurone Disease research. It was inspiring to see students, families, and staff come together for such an important cause—thank you for being part of something so meaningful. A special acknowledgement to our special guests, The Ruddock Family, especially Peter Ruddock, The Mayor of Manningham, Cr Deirdre Diamante, Dr Min-Yin Yap a MND scientist who oversees projects that support people living with MND and former AFL umpire and Mental Health advocate, Razor Ray Chamberlain. I would like to also acknowledge TheirCare for their support by donating towards the cost of the dunk tank, meaning more money to this important cause. Also, to our brave Year 6s and staff who braved the cold conditions and entered the dunk tank-thank you all for your enthusiasm and participation in our event. Through our combined efforts, we raised over $2000-thank you to everyone!!
