Level 3

At Level 3 we support students to manage the transition from junior to senior school. We foster independence and encourage teamwork. There is a continuing focus on kindness, the school’s values and the You Can Do It! program. Students’ autonomy increases as they develop individual working

Grade 3 and 4 students increasingly take more responsibility for their learning and reflect upon what makes a successful learner. They learn the importance of taking learning risks and understand that making mistakes is all part of successful learning.

We assess individual students in line with the Victorian Curriculum to plan the next step of their learning journey. Based on student learning assessments, we deliver a differentiated program. This aims to cater for all students and covers a broad curriculum that ranges from Maths, English, Science and History to Digital Technologies and Personal and Social Capabilities.

Our Integrated Topics allow students to encounter new knowledge and skills in a meaningful and sequential manner. Subjects covered include the states of matter, animal science, Australian history and geography. Links to Aboriginal peoples and sustainability are embedded into these topics.

Level 3 students continue to take part in a range of specialist classes including weekly Art, L.O.T.E (Italian), Music and P.E. Students also have the opportunity to be a part of Belle Vue’s extensive extra-curricular activities such as choir and running club.
