Learning to Code

Coding is a really important skill that all children of the 21st century need to understand. Inevitably, technology will be part of many future jobs and therefore it is essential that students learn how to code (and understand code) so that they can thrive in the future.

Coding activities can be classified as “plugged” (using computers or technology) or “unplugged” (not using technology). Over the past few weeks the grade 1/2 students have been completing unplugged activities, using simple codes to represent movement forwards, backwards, left, right and to shade a shape. On this page are a few photos of grade 1/2 learning how to be code masters!
