During Term 1 all grade 1/2 students have been working hard to improve their writing! We have written lots of different text types, but during term 1 we have focussed primarily on recounts and retells.
Two writing goals have been created for each individual student. You will notice that many children are working on many different things, dependent on their writing confidence and the evidence teachers have gained from the assessment tasks students completed.
Why have writing goals? Well, writing goals ensure that all students are focussing on learning at their individual point of need. This means that all students are improving and achieving, regardless of their abilities. Each child can tell you what they are focussing on and why it is important. Feel free to come along and speak to the children about their writing and their specific writing goals.
