On Thursday evening two of our year 6 students – Melissa Chao and Oli Vu – attended the Kooyong Student Prize award ceremony at Balwyn High School, hosted by Josh Frydenberg, MP.
The Kooyong Student Prize is awarded to exceptional Year 6 students at schools throughout the Kooyong area. Students who are nominated display many admirable qualities, including academic excellence, extra curricula involvement and leadership skills.
Melissa and Oli were recognised for their many excellent qualities. Both hold leadership positions and are regularly involved in organsising events for the school through the JSC. They both held lead roles in our mid-year perfromance, ‘Under The Big Top’ and are involved in sport outside of school. Additionally, they are both persistent and motivated students who maintain impressive academic records.
Finally, (and maybe most importantly) Melissa and Oli consistently display our school values of pride, integrity, resposibility, respect and commitment. It was these qualities that Josh Frydenberg praised most highly and their teachers and families could not have been prouder.
Well done Oli and Melissa! A truly well-deserved recognition for you both.
