This term the Preps have been learning about Getting Along and team work! We have been working in teams to support and encourage each other when completing tasks.
We competed in 3 legged races, worked together to push team mates on wheelie boards and learned the importance of an end of activity handshake!

During Maths we have been learning how to give directions using the points of the compass. To help us we created a traditional compass rose and carried out a small experiment to demonstrate how magnets work. We also used them with simple maps and discussed how directions are a way of describing what direction to travel in between two points often using the words “to” and “from”.Read More »

Students in 5/6 have begun a new science unit called ‘What’s the Matter?’, which will be run alongside Bike Ed on Fridays.
The Primary Connections unit, which ties in with the Science, Mathematics and English curriculums, allows students to learn about matter with hands-on investigations.
On Friday, students started exploring the different states of matter (solids, liquids and gases) and their properties. Students observed a range of different materials and explained WHY they though they were either solids, liquids or gases.Read More »
